Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Digital Disruptors SL, a company incorporated in Spain ("AboutMe.video", "we", "us"), is the data controller responsible for processing the personal data collected through the platform aboutme.video. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data in compliance with applicable data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on the protection of personal data ("LOPDGDD").
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of data: (a) data you provide when registering and using the platform — identification data (name, surname, email address), professional data (headline, location, languages, LinkedIn URL, telephone number), content you upload or record (professional video introduction and resume), and company information for recruiter accounts (company name, country, website); (b) social sign-in data — if you register or sign in with Google or LinkedIn, we receive the identifiers and profile fields those providers share with us (typically name and email; LinkedIn may also provide a profile photo if you choose to import it); (c) payment data processed through Stripe (we do not store full card details); (d) usage and product analytics — profile views, video plays, search activity, and in-product metrics tied to your account; (e) technical data — IP address, browser and device information, server logs, and error reports; and (f) approximate country derived from our CDN (Cloudflare) when available, used for currency display and regional settings. Session cookies and similar technologies are used as described in Section 7.
2. Purposes and Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases: (a) performance of the service contract — to create and maintain your account, display your profile, process job offers and applications, generate AI video summaries, deliver paid features (including resume analysis and optimization for eligible candidate plans), and manage subscriptions; (b) legitimate interest — to operate product analytics, monitor errors and security, prevent fraud and abuse, improve the platform, and measure aggregated website usage, balanced against your rights; (c) compliance with legal obligations — to meet tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements and respond to lawful requests; (d) consent — for promotional communications and, where required by law, for non-essential cookies or similar technologies (you may withdraw consent at any time). We will never sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Video Storage, Watermarking, and AI Processing
Videos that you record in the browser through AboutMe.video are securely stored and streamed through Cloudflare Stream. A watermark with the AboutMe.video logo is applied to all videos. Videos are accessible according to your profile visibility: public profiles may appear in the public candidate directory; private profiles are not listed there and are only visible to authenticated recruiters from their dashboard or on jobs you applied to. You may replace your video at any time. Audio from candidate videos may be transcribed and summarized using automated tools so recruiters can review introductions more efficiently; such processing is assistive only and does not replace human review. Upon account deletion, videos and related media are permanently removed from our active systems, subject to limited backup retention described in Section 5.
4. Data Sharing, Processors, and International Transfers
We share personal data with service providers who act as processors on our instructions, strictly to provide the service: Stripe Inc. (payments, USA); Cloudflare Inc. (video hosting via Stream, file storage via R2, CDN and security, USA); Resend Inc. (transactional email, USA); OpenAI, L.L.C. (AI transcription, summaries, resume analysis and optimization, and job-description drafting, USA); Google LLC (Sign-In, Maps/Places autocomplete, reCAPTCHA, and Google Analytics, USA); LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company (OAuth sign-in for candidate accounts, Ireland/USA); Functional Software Inc. d/b/a Sentry (error monitoring, USA); and Contentsquare SA (UX analytics, including session recordings and heatmaps, when enabled, France/USA). International transfers outside the European Economic Area are safeguarded by appropriate mechanisms, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and, where applicable, adequacy decisions. Your profile information is visible to recruiters in accordance with your visibility settings. We do not disclose your data to advertisers.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active and as needed to provide the service. If you have found a job or want to stop appearing in the directory, you may set your profile visibility to private in Dashboard > Settings > Privacy without deleting your account. When you delete your account through Dashboard > Settings > Account, we permanently erase associated personal data, including profile information, videos, resumes, and other documents stored for the service, within a reasonable period (except where the law requires a longer retention period, for example billing and tax records). Before deleting your account, you may download your video from Dashboard > Video. Security and error logs are kept for limited periods proportionate to their purpose.
6. Your Rights
Under applicable data protection legislation, you have the right to: access your personal data; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data ("right to be forgotten"); restrict processing; data portability; object to processing based on legitimate interest; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may exercise these rights by contacting us at [email protected]. We will respond within the time limits set by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you are in Spain, the competent authority is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es). If you are in another EU Member State, you may contact your local data protection authority.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use: (a) strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security, and load balancing; (b) first-party product analytics to measure profile views and video plays as part of our core features; and (c) third-party analytics tools — Google Analytics and Contentsquare (Hotjar) — to understand how visitors use our website (pages visited, interactions, and, where enabled, session recordings). We do not use advertising or profiling cookies. Where required by law, we request your consent before placing non-essential analytics cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, for certain providers, through their opt-out tools. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in or using parts of the platform.
8. Automated Processing and Artificial Intelligence
Certain features use automated processing, including artificial intelligence, to assist users: transcribing and summarizing candidate videos, analyzing and optimizing resumes (for eligible candidate plans), scoring resumes against automated checklists, and drafting job descriptions. Outputs are generated automatically and may be incomplete or inaccurate; they are provided for assistance only. AboutMe.video does not make hiring decisions on behalf of recruiters, and no automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects is taken about you solely on the basis of such processing. Content submitted for AI features may be transmitted to our AI providers under contractual data-processing terms. You should review AI-generated content before relying on it, especially before submitting a resume or job posting.
9. Social Sign-In
You may sign in or register using Google (available to candidates and businesses) or LinkedIn (available to candidate accounts only). When you use these options, we receive the information your identity provider shares according to the permissions you grant (typically your name and email address). We do not receive your social-network password. LinkedIn sign-in may also be used to import a profile photo with your consent. Each provider processes your data under its own privacy policy; we recommend reviewing Google’s and LinkedIn’s policies. You may disconnect LinkedIn from Dashboard > Settings when your account supports it, provided you retain another sign-in method.
